Case Study

Ecommerce Website with Maximum Simplicity – Tapeso

The current website features a mega menu that helps customers get faster to the product that interests them. The menu is much simpler now and navigating the site can be done in a more facilitated way. This way, the end users aren’t lost in the labyrinth of irrelevant information.

With the change of the filters’ look, which currently are in several variations, the users can easily get to the wanted product.

Refactoring of the CSS code and cleaning the unnecessary code, as well as the complete reconstruction of the CSS code was completed. By delivering this task, the client got an improved code that is easily scalable and prompts the opportunity to further develop other components as needed.

It is an absolute pleasure to work with SmartClick. They helped us realize many important website changes. The faster implementation of ideas and the overall betterment of the user experience has been beneficial for our conversion rate, customer’s expenditure and customer satisfaction. Our clients are buying more and staying longer on the website.

They had a great intuitive sense of how to convert a design idea into a reality on the web. Working within their set of skills, I have not seen any other developer work more efficiently. We were surprised by the implementation speed and the ability to work on schedule. I will definitely hire SmartClick for future projects.

The Project

Working on Tapeso meant working efficiently to achieve maximum simplicity. What we aimed to achieve is to improve the complete user experience of the website and facilitate the way their clients will get to the wanted product. Because we always walk a mile in our clients’ shoes before we execute, we understand their e-commerce appetite and set ourselves as their strategic partner to reach the heights in their niche of the e-commerce world they belong.

Client Info

Tapeso is an online shop for carpets and rugs from the Netherlands that offers a vast range of quality products. They take pride in their high quality and low prices, making them one of the best in the country in their industry. In addition to their low prices, they also offer the latest trendy products that have been made famous by well-known instagram influencers and bloggers.

The Challenge

The whole project was quite challenging due to the number of changes that needed to be made. The first challenge came when the local version of the site was created. The whole project was implemented in docker.

Creating the menu was another challenge because it needed to be easily customizable by the client (without the help of a developer), which required maximum simplicity.

Then, changing the look of the filters posed difficulties to finish. That’s because the existing filters (at that time) had many functionalities that needed to be changed in order to create new ones per the client’s requests.

Finally, the last challenging bit of the project was carrying out the refactoring of the CSS code due to the fact that the project was previously worked on by more developers with their own ways of writing the CSS code.

Client Needs

The client wanted to change the look and functionality of the menu and the header. They wanted an easy-to-use menu which can be easily changed and updated with new information when necessary.

Another important task was changing the look and functionality of the filters as well as refactoring the CSS to change the overall look of the blog.
