You’re an experienced WordPress developer that can make updates to our web properties on a regular basis. You will work directly with our team to quickly deploy both minor and large changes, making sure everything works smoothly. We are seeking someone who can be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing new features and functionality
  • Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
  • Helping formulate an effective, responsive design
  • Testing the speed of the website
  • Create re-usable components and code snippets
  • Thoroughly test your work on multiple browsers and mobile devices
  • Demonstrate effective communication with fellow team members and management
  • Rapidly prototype ideas in order to learn what works and how to elevate concepts to the next level

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has 2+ years of WordPress experience, particularly with custom themes, creating and modifying themes and plugins, visual composer (WPBakery) or other page builders
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
  • A strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems
  • Experience writing code from scratch
  • An understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred
  • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
  • Understanding of on-page SEO best practices
  • Experience testing and debugging work on multiple browsers & screen sizes
  • Thrive in a fast-paced working environment, owning deadlines and striving for efficiency
  • Familiarity with GIT, Asana, or similar project management and issue tracking software
  • Working knowledge of design principles, typography, user interfaces, Web standards and usability
